🦞 Is Eid Khutbah Compulsory

This khutbah was originally delivered on Eid-ul-Adha and discusses how part of the legacy of Ibrahim (alayhi salam) is achieving success in one’s personal endeavors and more importantly securing the religious identity and spirituality of our children and coming generations by dedicating ourselves to the obedience of Allah above all.
Sending a lot of blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) 9. Walking to the Mosque. 10. Listening carefully to Jummah Khutba (Sermon) 1. Cutting Nails. Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be satisfied with him) reported that ‘Five are the demonstrations of fitra (normal slant): Culling the hair under the arms.
Towards the end of an excellent Khutbah (sermon), Sheikh Humaid, Imam of Masjid al-Haram in Makkah, said [25:58]: “Dear Muslims, you should rejoice with this Eid (festival) of yours. I pray that it is a time of many blessings and that Allah accepts your acts of obedience. Remember to smile, be happy and spread happiness among yourselves, your
Contrary to the Jummah khutbah, the Eid khutbah is delivered as one unit without sitting. Listening to the khutbah is optional; The Prophet (salalahu alaihi wa sallam) said (after finishing the Eid prayer): “We will now deliver a khutbah. Whoever wishes to sit and listen to the khutbah may sit, and whoever wishes to leave may leave”. (Abū
"Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal has given the permission that the Eid khutbah will suffice, and people do not have to come back for Jum'ah prayer. Ibn Qudamah reports that Imam Ahmad was of the opinion that Eid prayer suffices, and both the villagers, and city residents are permitted not to offer the Jum'ah prayer, with the exception of the Imam.
There are also no reports that say he preached a khutbah on a Friday when he was travelling, neither standing on his own two feet or from atop his camel, as he used to do on ‘Eid, or from a pulpit, as he used to do on Fridays. He occasionally used to deliver an address to the people when he was travelling, and this was narrated by them but no
Praise be to Allaah. If the day of Eid coincides with Friday, then whoever prays Eid with the imaam does not have to attend Jumu'ah (it is not obligatory on him); in his case it becomes Sunnah. If he does not pray Jumu'ah, he has to pray Zuhr. This is in the case of people other than the imaam. As for the imaam, he has to be present for Jumu'ah
A thoughtful and thorough planning of Khutbas in advance will multiply the benefit for millions of Muslims who lend their ears, minds, and hearts for 30-45 minutes every week, especially during the Ramadan and Eid seasons. The evidence for this is hadith Zaid ibn Arqam who said: The Prophet prayed the Eid salat on a Friday and granted a permission regarding the praying of Jumu’ah salat and said: “If anyone wants to pray it, he may pray.”. Reported by Imam Ahmad and in the books of Sunan except for at-Tirmidhi. And was ruled Sahih by Ibn Khuzayma.
The Khutbah of Eid. On the day of Eid, it is recommended, according to the majority of scholars, to have a khutbah given by the Imam. The Imam advises the people in the congregation and reminds them of Allah and His Messenger ﷺ. Unlike the Friday khutbah, the Eid khutbah is given immediately after the congregational prayer is completed.
For many of us, the ‘Eid prayer is a simple ritual that we observe twice a year. However, if one recently accepted Islam, or is dealing with the responsibility of his first ‘Eid khutbah, the ‘Eid prayer begins to seem truly daunting. With that in mind, I decided to compile a simple primer on the ‘Eid prayer. This issue – i.e., starting the khutbah and prayer on Friday before the sun has passed the meridian – is something concerning which there is a difference of opinion among the scholars. Some of them say that it is not permissible until the sun has passed the meridian. Others say that it is permissible. Episode Notes.
